Proudly based in Port Augusta SA, Arid Land Communications (ALC)
provides Telecommunications solutions for Business and Domestic customers.
Established in June 1998 as a Sole Trader, ALC was registered as a PTY LTD company in 2001
and has had as many as 13 employees - in 2019, we have 10 employees.
Our name reflects our home...
we live and work in an extremely hostile environment.
Port Augusta is located at the head of Spencers Gulf,
300km north of Adelaide, Capital of South Australia.
South Australia is known as "the driest state in the driest continent on earth" and,
Port Augusta is testament to that
...with an average of 245mm (9.7 inches) of annual rainfall
and temperature extremes from -4C to a record 49.5C (2019...24.8F to 121.1F)
and 320 days of sunshine per year.
ALC covers a massive area we estimate at 85% of South Australia geographically,
(around 837000 square kilometres), travelling huge distances,
servicing contracts for major Telco's and other entities,
as well as our own large base of customers.

Arid Land Communications provides an On-Call 24/7/365 service for business customers...
Currently we hold contracts for
NEC, Nokia, Optus, Vodafone, Kordia SA GRN, Ericsson NBN and Visionstream
covering up to approx 85% of South Australia.
We can provide reactive maintenance (RM), proactive maintenance (PM)
and corrective maintenance (CM) at agreed rates for retainer, hourly rate,
kilometres and materials OR an adhoc service for one-off work.
We have qualified climbers / light riggers for light tower work...
we do not provide construction rigging.
Our technicians can provide Grounds Maintenance, Shelter and Battery Maintenance
and Tower Maintenance to schedules including Lad-SafTM inspections / certification.
Corrective Maintenance can also include
environmentals (temperature and dust control) and battery string replacements.
ALC holds an imprest of stores safely protected under alarms
and CCTV for each customer, for rapid response and restoration.
